KES supports education in Kenya, by providing scholarships to significantly disadvantaged bright, pupils to be boarding students at Bahati Division Academy (BDA) and other Kenyan schools; and by contributing to resources and facilities which will assist the education of these students.

The story of KES

Over 30 years ago, Simon Brister sponsored a Kenyan boy, giving him the formal education he deserved but couldn’t afford. That boy - Joseph Kiuna, prospered and became a successful businessman. Grateful for his chance and wanting to support others like him, Joseph set up Bahati Division Academy in his hometown of Nakuru.

To continue helping more and more bright, talented but terribly poor children receive an education and achieve their potential, Simon Brister then set up KES to sponsor students and support the school. From humble beginnings, the school is now growing and the students are excelling. KES grew as well and now has a team of six trustees working hard to raise awareness and funds for a deserving cause. In early 2018, following education system changes in Kenya, the secondary school of BDA closed and we carefully selected new high-quality and already established secondary schools for all our scholars. So we now have 4 schools that we work very closely with.
