Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed as Kenyan president

The incumbent president Uhuru Kenyatta has been officially re-elected with 54% of the vote. His opposition Raila Odinga is still contesting the result and has launched a legal campaign as he stands by his claim that the election was rigged.

President Kenyatta has called for peace and asked all Kenyans to shun any violence in his acceptance speech on Friday 11 August as detailed in this Guardian article.
